Tenor & Double seconds
Two Places in Trinidad
$17.95
Scott R.
Meister
Lively tune scored for a duo of tenor and double seconds - it can be
expanded to four, six or eight players by using any equal number of
tenor and double second players. The first movement (Port of Spain
. . . .Traffic) is in a lilting 6/8 and the second movement (Maracas
Bay) moves at a quick pace in cut-time. In the second movement the
double second player(s) adds a tambourine to be played by his/her foot
while simultaneously playing pans. high school/college.

Amber Eyes
is a medium
tempo soca in ABA form with a good amount of syncopation
throughout the ensemble that just makes you want to dance. Written for
four parts with a split in the tenor, it is an ideal piece for small
band venues, but the parts can also be doubled in larger bands. high

Calypsoca:
for Steelband & Percussion Trio
$35.00
Scott R. Meister
A unique and
innovative work scored for steel band (lead, seconds, guitar & bass) and
three multi-percussionists! As the title implies, much of the work
owes itself to inspiration from the music of the Caribbean. While
rhythms and melodic material that might readily be associated with pan
permeates a great portion of the work, the traditional notation does
give way to "timed proportional cells" that give a distinct contemporary
flavor to certain parts of this work: here players roll golf balls in
the pans, play with knuckles on the sides (pan skirts), play with
brushes (on pans) and rub the tam tam with super balls! Aside from a set
of pans (all pan parts could be doubled if desired), the percussion
instrumentation includes: marimbas (2), tam tam, cymbals, brake drum, cabasa, snare drum, congas, shakers, triangle, . . . . This title would
make a very interesting addition to either a percussion ensemble or
steel pan concert! adv. high school/college.

Inspired by
observation of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights), this piece offers
the rich sound and texture of the steelpan as a tribute to the
complexity and beauty of this phenomenon. This unique piece makes
use of sympathetic resonance technique to create sections of ethereal
sounds out of which grows the main body of the work in a Soca feel.

calypso written in a happy island flair. A catchy melody and tight
